Mission City Community Fund will host Virtual Charity Event in 2021

Greater Giving Local Focus returns for local nonprofits on Thursday, October 21

Santa Clara, Calif. - 09/15/2021 - Mission City Community Fund returns with their annual charity event Greater Giving Local Focus this year and invites the community to gather virtually on Thursday, October 21. Starting online at 5:00 p.m. we will strengthen our connection to one another, turn our attention towards good work serving those most in need in Silicon Valley, and share inspiring stories with our caring community, even if only virtually once again this year.

MCCF will honor Nonprofit of the Year partner, College of Adaptive Arts, for their extraordinary work creating successful contributing citizens through the arts. Please join us online as we also present the Austen Warburton Community Service Award and the George & Donna Burdick Business Award, among other things:

  • Inspiring stories during these challenging times of the coronavirus pandemic.
  • Silent auction items that you can use NOW.
  • An opportunity to gather (virtually) with a caring community and together, help our neighbors.

MCCF has raised over $3.7 million for charity with more than 790 grants to deserving nonprofits including $130,000 to COVID-19 recipients in April 2020: Hunger at Home, Healthy Meals Santa Clara, The Health Trust, JW House and South Bay Blue Star Moms. The return of our Greater Giving Local Focus event is a fresh opportunity to acquire great items and experiences...all for charity! We welcome back Emmy award-winning journalist, Robert Handa, our talented MC to raise funds through auction items and sponsorship to help establish grants for local nonprofits. In November 2020, sponsors and winning bidders successfully raised $128,000 and MCCF is setting the bar for our community to raise over $100k this year to support programs in Five Areas of Giving: Theater and The Arts, Education, Social Services, Health Care, and the Environment.

"Greater Giving Local Focus brings the deeply rooted generosity of sponsors, partners, donors, and dedicated volunteers together for the community as we continue to rebuild from the pandemic," commented MCCF Chair, Anne Kepner. "MCCF is incredibly proud to provide financial support to organizations doing incredible work and we are committed to helping this charity event make an even greater difference in the lives of many in Silicon Valley who need help."
