Mission City Community Fund Joins City of Santa Clara in Support of Healthy Meals Program for Kids

As part of the COVID-19 response efforts, Mission City Community Fund has joined the City of Santa Clara and community partners Santa Clara Unified School District, Spectra Venue Management, Levy Premium Foods, Intel Corporation and California's Great America, to provide kids living in Santa Clara free breakfast and lunch bags for weekend meals.

The Healthy Meals Santa Clara program was launched on March 26, 2020, and the first distribution provided FREE meals to approximately 2,000 children. Meal distribution will take place Thursdays from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. at four pick up locations within the City of Santa Clara: Cabrillo Middle School at 2550 Cabrillo Ave., Don Callejon School at 4176 Lick Mill Blvd., Wilcox High School, 3250 Monroe St. and the Santa Clara Senior Center at 1303 Fremont St.

"Mission City Community Fund is proud to support the Healthy Meals Santa Clara program to ensure kids in our community will not go hungry during this serious public health crisis," says MCCF Chair Anne Kepner. "Our nonprofit has the ability to bring donors and local companies together and is grateful to Intel for its early and generous donation of $100,000 to help fund the meal program."

"The need for nutritional meals for children in our community is growing rapidly," shared Lisa Gillmor, Mayor of Santa Clara. "The City of Santa Clara appreciates the partnership we have forged with Mission City Community Fund and generous donors such as Intel that have allowed us to quickly mobilize and meet these basic needs."
