About Mission City Community Fund
MCCF

Mission City Community Fund is a 501(c)3 tax exempt non-profit. We are an all-volunteer organization with a board of directors who serve for a minimum of three years. Because we have no paid staff, all the money MCCF raises goes directly to the organizations we support. When you donate to the MCCF you can be confident that local organizations get maximum benefit. Every dollar of our net proceeds go directly to projects and programs in our communities.

In 1986, a group of concerned Santa Clara citizens formed the Mission City Community Fund in response to shrinking Federal financial support for much-needed community programs. The original board of directors later expanded the fund's focus to the entire "quality of life" spectrum.

Our objective is simple: enriching the quality of life to our community residents. We focus on five areas of giving: social services, education, health care, theater and arts, and the environment. Over the years, the MCCF has supported hundreds of nonprofit organizations throughout Silicon Valley and enabled them to expand and enhance their services to our citizens.

We serve people of all ages throughout the community.

  • MCCF grants help senior citizens with transportation, housing and medical services. These grants assist them in leading happier, healthier and fuller lives.
  • By supporting special projects sponsored by community school districts, we enrich the educational and extracurricular opportunities of students of all ages.
  • Our contributions to the Santa Clara Public Library and the Community Literacy Project help children as well as adults improve reading and writing skills.
  • Grants to the YWCA, the Emergency Housing Consortium, Next Door Solutions, InnVision, and the local police departments help family members dealing with homelessness, abuse, rape and domestic violence.
  • We partnership with community Rotary Clubs that help provide shoes, books and necessities to underserved elementary school children.
  • We brighten the holiday season through Soroptimist Club of Santa Clara as they provide free gift shopping for low-income families at their Christmas store.

We accept grant applications throughout the year. Twice a year, in the spring and fall, we review grant requests. Volunteer board members make an on site visit to the facility requesting a grant. Based on our grant guidelines the grant may, or may not, be approved. Need and value to the community along with available funds, allow us to make distributions to qualified applicants.
